The Alphabet & Northwest Native Flora and Fauna Carved Into Crayons by Diem Chau.

In honor of her gallery showing at the G. Gibson Gallery in Seattle, artist Diem Chau has carved yet another amazing set of crayons. This time, it's the complete alphabet along with flora and fauna (and a person or two) corresponding to each of the 26 letters and all related to the Great Northwest.

A Hole In G. Ollie Willis Designs A Typographic Golf Course.

Leicester born London based Designer Ollie Willis challenges the precision, patience and frustration common in the game of golf with a mini golf course in the shape of the letters of the alphabet.By creating a typeface that uses the curves, 45º and 90º angles that are present in mini golf courses, the letters can be made into interactive structures pairing the processes of golf and design to become a 26 hole course.

Typeseat by Tim Fishlock
First, Fishlock's Typeseat is a limited edition screenprint featuring classic chairs as the letters of the alphabet.

Here Tim explains some background to the edition:
“A lot of my work explores symbols and the idea of pictorial shorthand. I’m fascinated by the alphabet, how most of the letters began as pictures, icons from another era. Social and cultural change and aesthetic trends have been reflected in the Roman alphabet as it’s been refined over the centuries. Few objects reflect this cultural change as distinctly as the chair. An Eames lounger or a Panton chair are effective shorthand for the aesthetic trends of the day.

Typeseat is my attempt at creating a pictorial alphabet made up of some of the most iconic chairs of the twentieth century.”

Quick Little Giggle: The Alphabet In Pop Culture Pics

A friend of mine sent this over to me this morning.
Unfortunately I do not know who to credit, so if you do, let me know!
It's hilarious for those of us familiar with American pop culture and above the age of 30. Not sure if the rest of you will understand all the visual letter references.
